In a previous interview Currrrrtis "50 Cent" Jackson stated that if Kanye West outsells him on September 11th... "Curtis" will be his last album.. and he will focus and produce artists in his camp... Heavy wager from a rapper that has released 3 tracks that I've never heard of... And with fishing around on the net. No one really cares about 50... With all this said this battle may not even happen due to that Kanye's "Graduation" album isn't even finished!! Kanye has a Friday deadline to get the tracks to his mastering company to have it ready by the 11th... That means another push back to late September maybe even early October... I was really looking forward to 50 backing away from the mic... We all know 'YE can cook up summer in the winterr, but I'm hoping he cooks 50 up in Septemberrr..

First of all if you haven't seen Transformers and or The Bourne Ultimatum, do me and yourself a favour and go see these sick sick flicks! I've seen Transformers thrice times and will go see it again that wants to see it for the first time or again. The Bourne Ultimatum, in mine and others opinon the best one of the trilogy. So I highly recommend doing that up!

After 3 long months of inactivity... Adam and I have decided to keep this blog a little more up to date... So since he is currently doing his thing in Europe. I'm going to do a quick little update on the latest (worth while) shoe, music, and movie drops in the past, present and future

Past...

3 months ago, Adam and I as stated in the previous blog went to the last leg of the Clipse's "Hell Hath No Fury Tour." We and the crowd did not leave disappointed. We all know that the Clipse are known for their flashy BAPE hoodies and such... So the crowd tried to follow suit and wore theirs to the show *Less than 5% real*... Tequila caught on to this trend and ordered all hoodies put into a 5 dollar coat check that was previously not explained upon arrival... I personally found it hilarious. Something that was not hilarious was that the show was slated to start at 9.00p.m... We all know rappers are late to the show and usually perform an hour after the ticketed time.... so after asking management when Clipse are going to show... we got 10:00 at 9... 11:00 at 10 and so on... With these gaps in the show, we learned after that the scheduled warm-up acts cancelled last second so to fill their spot, they had 2 NE Calgary duos take their place... And wow was it the most embarassing sight i have ever seen... "Can y'all say North!..East!" "Y'all Say Clipse, I Say Grindin'" were some of the "lyrics/crowd interactions" thrown down....

So Finally! 12:02A.M Clipse show up! Crowd goes wild... yes for clipse, but even more so for the fact that there weren't going to be any more clowns taking the stage...

Clipse open up with "Momma I'm So Sorry" which was a surprize to me, knowing that "We Got it For Cheap" would of been a great intro... which was performed right after. Clipse played all their hits from "When was The Last Time" to "What Happened to that Boy??" All I can say that I was in awe on how sick these two were on stage... Their transitions were to a T and didn't miss one line which rappers are known to do... They ended their set with "Wamp Wamp" ... As we thought... 15 minutes later... The beat to "Virginia" *my personal favorite song* starts to play... they get back on stage and rip out 2 more beats "Grindin' " and "Mr. Me Too".. After the completed set, we had some drinks and headed home in the snow... in May... Ryan Taylor and I ended up copping their set list after the show, which was a nice souvenir...

May is a great month... First showing of summer, May Long camping and of course My Birthday...

Anyways... May is big for another reason... Possibly the biggest hip hop show of the year is drawing near... The Clipse are comin to Calgary... Sounds weirder every time I say it. Maybe Cause Weirder isn't a word. Clipse @ Tequila Nightclub May 23rd.. Buy them at Ticketmaster, Goodfoot, Group Seven, Ghettoblaster, Giant 45 and/or at Tequila for $35.00!

If these guys get past the border you will not be disappointed...

On other Clipse news...With their critcally praised album "Hell Hath No Fury" that has sold only 184 000 units. The Virginia Duo have announced that they are in and out of the studio working on 2 albums... One of their own and their Posse "Re-Up Gang." No release date has been dropped.

Disbanding in the last leg of their worldwide tour which was in Australia. I know a lot of you are fiending for the Dinosaur Jr. Dunk High SB and they will be released shortly. Apparently The Source has they're shipment of them in the warehouse waiting for a set release date from Nike to put them on the shelves. Keep an eye out for these as you know they'll be going fast once they get on the floor. Not sure on the retail price but if they're not considered "limited" ones they'll be $140 but if they are it's $175+. If you don't know what these are then you probably won't end up getting a pair cuz they'll be gone too quickly, but here's the pics anyways.

I hate technology!!! I had a huge post here about how I hate how every little tight jean wearing douchebag is getting their rich mommies and daddies to run down to Goodfoot and buy them a pair of dunk sb's so they can be like all the other stupid douchebag kids at school, but then my internet disconnected and I lost it all. The gist of the post was to say how the dunk sb's are being made poorly now and even though they are so called "limited" they are still produced for the masses despite how everything thinks they're getting a "limited" pair of shoes. New dunk sb's quality is just awful but the SB label is not totally destroyed. The Nike Tre that hasn't been released in a minute is coming out in some pretty fresh colors, black/green and a new safari print, both with matching apparel and accessories (more pics when they are available). For those who don't know, Digger's Society is a subscription from Digital Gravel where they do a collaboration tee once a month from a different company and only send them to subscribers. So far there's been some great tees from Mishka, Hundreds, Diamond, Redclay, Foreign Family, and Mighty Healthy. Here comes a pretty sick looking one from 3sixteen. It's got the two axe-type things on the front and the words on the back, seems like it's some sort of shiny print as well. Should be dope! Better pics once I get mine in.

Well It's 2007, annd Jordan and Nike are Droppin' big releases this year...With the first drop were the Black V's a couple weeks ago, Air Force 1 Ball shoe dropped this passed Saturday, which are alright...But the Focus is the re-retro of the Jay lll's. Fire lll's Drop 24th of Feb the Cement lll's drop 24th of March yet the accessories are coming in from left to right... Back packs, Chains, Tee's, Fridges, the works... *Sorry no fridge for all those Hypebeasts out there... but i will be on these... I passed on the Black V for a pair of the Fire lll or the Cement... Not sure which i should cop.

The fire 3's do not drop on the 24th of February as previously indicated, they actually release March 24, 2007. And the cement 3's shown above are actually the Jordan III Flip and they are said to be released along with the fire 3's, the baby blue women's 3's and the cool grey and yellow 3's all shown below.

2006 Recap - Part 6 - Top 5 shoes

I know this is a lot of posts but it's been a big year! This is the last recap post i promise! So let's move on with it...

#5 - Nike Dunk Low Sb - Hawaii

These were released early in 06 and were one of the best Sb's released this year. Got my pair from the source but had to get rid of them because the size was too small, wish i still had them. Great concept for the shoe, great colors, and great use of materials (patent, nubuck). The only downside of these was that the black rubbed off on the orange toe when u walked, but oh well, shoes are made to be worn.

#4 - Air Jordan IV Retro - Mars/Militaries (Tie)

The IVs were released in a big way this year. There were around 10 colors of these released (far too many if you ask me) and these were the only ones that were worth looking at. And by hell were they ever worth looking at! The mars were a great redo of the fire red IVs with the tiny Spike Lee picture on the hell, and the militaries were a perfect copy of the originals from 1989. Both were GR's which made it easy to get so everyone could get their favorite shoes.

#3 - Nike Dunk Sb Low - Sabatoge's (SBTGs)

These were a really limited Asia release SB, but somehow found there way onto the pick sheet of a few select Canadian stores. The Source was one of them but for some reason they only got sizes 9.5 and below (damn my 10.5 shoe size). The last of the good quality SB's i've seen in a while, and the eye patch lace covers were a great idea. Prices shot up on these but have leveled at around $300. Even if you think that's too much, you can't deny these were the best SB release of 2006.

#2 - Air Jordan V Retro - Grapes

Great colorway of a great shoe re-released this year as a lifestyle Jordan. That means they only dropped in the states, (bastards!) so no luck for Canadians unless you wanted to get em off ebay (which i had to do). The quality of these have gone down as have all the other Jordans but they're still better than the other V's. Grapes are a lot of peoples grails so releasing them was great for a low of people. Sold out in seconds and were on ebay even faster then they sold.

#1 - Nike Air Max 1 - CLOT

One word for these shoes: Unbelievable!! The first specialty shoe based out of Hong Kong ever made and it didn't disappoint. Made in extremely limited numbers these shoes have rocketed to $6-700 on ebay. I know I hated on the clear toe on the invisible woman AF1s earlier, but these were release way before those this year and didn't have the insane stupid following of the AF1s. Everything from the materials, to the colors, to the insoles, to the box was made just perfectly on these. If you happened to get your hands on these you were either extremely lucky, had a good "in" or spent some hard cash, either way you must be loving these shoes, I know I would.

2006 Recap - Part 5 - Most Overrated Shoes

#5 - Nike Sb 3 Bears Pack

While technically 3 pairs they all suck so they get only one spot. Everyone was fiendin on these but to me they were really really lame. The colors weren't good, the quality sucked and fur?? Come on now. These just sucked a lot.

#4 - Invisible Woman AF1

Clear toes were cool when the Espo AF2 dropped in crazy limited numbers, but now it's getting played out. With this release (also in a purple colorway) fakers were in a frenzy! There were clear toe AF1s in every single colorway as well as in Jordan 7s. Awful just awful. The AF1 doesn't fit right to have the clear toe as well, but that's just me.

#3 - Dunk SB Day of the Dead

I know I put these in my pick ups of the year, but that was because of the crazy hype on the shoes and the fact that I got so much out of going to the store to pick them up. The quality on them is shit and they aren't that nice of a design either. The colors are nice and the idea is good, but still there was waaaay too much hype on these. Like over 100 pages of comments about them on ISS months before they even dropped.

#2 - Jordan Dunk Lows

Again with ruining the classics. Take a great shoe, with a great colorway, put that colorway on another great shoe and you've wrecked both of them. I know there were 3 colorways in this and they all sucked, but this was the worst. The fake pre-yellowed sole just added to the brutalness of these shoes. Everyone I know loved these, and I see soo many of these shoes on feet on a day to day basis, it's horrible.

#1 - Air Jordan Defining Moments Pack

Good idea to bring these out in a dope pack, but they butchered classics!!! The VIs with the jumpman and the gold 23 just looks shitty and the concords with gold and blue sole?? Destroyed the classics!! They were crazy limited and far too expensive for what they were and people just went crazy for them because they had an XI in them even though it wasn't a nice one. Sold out in 2 seconds and went for almost double on ebay. Hype is a bad bad thing, but in this case... who cares? They still sucked.

2006 Recap - Part 4 - Personal Pick ups

Got some great finds this year and some great pick ups, shoes and otherwise. Here's my top 5:

#5 - Air Jordan Retro V White/Emerald Green - Grape Ice

Ever since I've been into sneakers I've wanted a pair of Grape V's. I missed a few OG pairs on ebay for cheap back in 03-04 when I had no cash and I was beating myself over them for a long time. Then when they retroed them it was a must purchase for me. Not disappointed one bit. One of my 3 pairs of grails.

#4 - Beat Street on VHS

Big pick up this year. Found Beat Street in the original package for $5 at Recordland this year. One of the first hip-hop movies showing all the 4 elements in it's birth and glory. DJ Kool Herc and Afrikata Bambata, how can it go wrong?

#3 - Delirious - Eddie Murphy on VHS

One of the best stand-ups of all time, hands down! Eddie Murphy in his hay day in a full red leather suit on stage for an hour and a half. You'll never forget the G.I. Joe in the ass joke or the Ice Cream Man for that matter. Found this one at Value Village in the 1986 gold package for a low low price of $2.

#2 - Nike Dunk Low SB - Day of the Deads

The Source got hooked up on these this year. The first Canada exclusive shoe that people were going nuts for all over. There were 1000 pairs made split between Canada and Mexico. I happened to get my hands on 3 pairs for $175 each, sold one for $500, traded one for a pair of purple patent avengers and kept one to wear. One of my friends got 4 pairs and sold them all for a combined $1550, and one of my buddies traded his pair away for a pair of Calis ... and that brings me to my #1 pick up of the year!!

#1 - Nike Dunk Low SB - Calis

My ultimate grail of all Nike SB shoes was finally within grasp when one of my friends got a pair in a trade over ISS for a pair of day of the deads. I got them in my possession after i traded him a pair of de la soul lows and stealth 20s and couldn't be happier! I know I got them for a good deal but we're boys like that. With this shoe I am only one grail away from achieving all 3 of my grails.

2006 Recap - Part 3 - Top 10 Hip Hop Tracks

Bangers of the year, you know what this is son!!!! Let's get it!

#10 - Shooter - Lil' Wayne & Robin Thicke

Although his album dropped last year, this song wasn't a single until '06. Crazy R&B Robin Thicke style track with some great Weezy lyrics puts this in the top 10 tracks of the year.
Best line: "You don't know how sick you make us/ I wanna throw up like chips in Vegas" - Weezy

#9 - Suck It or Not - Cam'ron ft. Lil' Wayne

Song was nuts this year, literally. Weezy drops one of the hottest verses of the year on this track and you know you listened to this track at least a dozen times in a row just listening to the crazy one liners.
Best line: "Got somethin for your face, fuck Pro-activ" - Cam'ron

#8 - Chamillionaire - Ridin' ft. Krayzie Bone

Personally I don't like Chamillionaire that much, no disrespect but his style doesn't do it for me. But you have to admit that this was one of the tracks of the year based on the fact it was absolutely everywhere, and remixes were pretty nice as well. It was catchy as hell too, don't care who you are.
Best line: "They see me rollin, they hatin, patrollin, tryina catch me ridin dirty" - Chamillionaire

#7 - I Wanna Fuck You - Snoop Dogg ft. Akon

The #1 R&B hook singer of the last couple years hooks up with the big boss-dogg and you know it's straight fire. Best smooth rap/r&b track of the year. Track is too sick and if you don't know, now ya know.
Best line: "You know my pedigree/ Ex-dealer used to move 'phetamines" - Akon

#6 - Wamp Wamp (What It Do) - Clipse ft. Slim Thug

Great lyrics, great steel drum beat, Slim Thugga on the hook, can't go wrong. Album is straight fire and you know the second single won't stray from the pack. Pusha T and Malice straight destroy it on every single bar of this one, an instant classic. This one gonna be on personally mix-cds for a looong time to come.
Best line: "Pull up so mean with the angel bowin/ or with the emblem bearin a stallin / european custom, the leather's italian" - Malice

#5 - Make It Rain - Fat Joe ft. Lil' Wayne

One of the best club & street bangers of the year. Weezy and Fat Joe go crazy on a Scott Storch beat. Whether you like Joe or Wayne or not, this track is insane and everyone was listenin to it for the latter part of the year. After this dropped it started a rainin craze and everyone was throwin dollas wherever they could.
Best line: "I'm in this bitch with the terror/ got a handful of stacks, better grab an umbrella" -
Lil' Wayne

#4 - Hustlin & Hustlin (Remix) - Rick Ross ft. Jay-Z & Young Jeezy

Everyone became a hustler this year but no one looked the part more than Rick Ross. This man looked like he coulda been the leader of a drug cartel easily. Big man with the shaved head and full beard, full of tattoos, the man is great. His album was #3 on my listthis year and this song (along with the remix) was one of the best of 06.
Best line: "Who the fuck you think you fuckin' with? I'm the fuckin boss!" - Rick Ross

#3 - We Fly High - Jim Jones ft. Max B.

This track had everyone and their grandmas and their dogs and their babies ... BAAALLLLIIINN!!!! This song was everywhere this year and even the entire NY Giants defense was doing the ballin after every single play. Easily one of the biggest singles of the year and easily the best ad-lib of the year as well.
Best line: "BAAALLLLIIINN!!!!" - Jim Jones

#2 - Tell Me When To Go - E-40 ft. Keak Da Sneak

The hyphy movement was doing it big at the beginning of the year mostly due to the success of this track. It was nuts and people were ghost-ridin the whip wherever they could. It brought a whole new type of yay-area slang to everyone all over the country and people in Canada were even ridin the yellow bus. Keak Da Sneak and his rasp was all over this one and the video just added to the popularity with everyone going dumb all over.

#1 - What You Know - T.I.

This song was absolutely insane this year!! Along with the release of ATL: The Movie, this song served as a great advertisement for King, ATL, and T.I. himself. Produced by DJ Toomp (a lotta Jeezy stuff ex. I Luv It) this one banged every house party, concert, club, car, everywhere. Released early 06 previous to the release of King this track still gets regular play on my iTunes even into 07. With this and King being on my top 10 this year, T.I. was doing it real big!

2006 Recap - Part 2 - Top 5 Overrated Hip-Hop Albums

There were a lot of good albums this year, a few great and a few just awful. Here are my personal top 5 most overrated albums over the year. Either overrated or I just think they should've been better than they were.

#5 - Jay-Z - Kingdom Come / Nas - Hip Hop Is Dead

2 of the biggest contenders for king of NY put aside their differences and dropped an album each towards the latter part of 2006. I know I'm not alone in saying that I was insanely excited to hear both of these and after the few listens I gave both of them, neither were classics. Albeit they did have a few good songs (ex. Jay-Z - Lost Ones and Nas - Black Republican ft. Jay-Z), neither album lived up to the crazy hype that was put on both of these artists in the coming months before release. Both albums received very high critical acclaim but I think undeservedly. Jay-Z album had me hooked for a bit, but after 2-3 listens, it went off into the pile of cd's rarely to be heard from in a loooong time. Nas' on the other hand didn't even catch me right off the bat. It had it's good tracks, and a good overall message, but the singles bored me and it didn't seem to flow as well as I expected from a great Nas album. Both disappointing.

#4 - Murs - Murray's Revenge

Start this off, I'm a huge fan of Murs and his normal man/skater/9-5 rap. But this is one of his weakest releases to date. The first Murs & 9th Wonder album 3:16 the 9th Edition was groundbreaking for Murs and gave him solo success in the underground rap world. Murray's Revenge did have a couple nice tracks to listen to a bunch of times, but as an album it didn't make it past a couple listens. A couple good tracks on the album were: L.A. & Barbershop ft. Big Pooh. With only 10 tracks long and only about 35-40 minutes this one almost instantly is gone into the compact disc realm of no return.

#3 - Method Man - 4:21 ... The Day After

We all know that after Tical in 1994, Method Man has not put together a good solo album. I didn't even know this album was coming out until it was already on the shelves so I just passed on it like I would a new D4L album. The first single "Say" was a real lame attempt at promoting the album because it was just awful. This wouldn't have even made it to the list if I didn't see it as an underrated album of the year on a few people's lists. So I thought maybe it wasn't that bad and went to my local Cash Converters and found it there for $6. Gave it a listen and it never even made it to the computer to put on my iPod. Might be selling this one back to Cash Converters in the near future if I run low on gouda.

#2 - The Game - Doctor's Advocate

When The Documentary dropped I wasn't feeling The Game that much. He did have a good style and some nice lyrics but the G-unit outweighed the good. So when I heard he dropped G-unit and moved on and was dropping a new album I had a tiny bit of excitement inside me. I expected a lot from Compton's next great rapper but he failed me once again. The first single was a banger! "It's Okay (One Blood)" ft. Junior Reid was a great track, and if this was things to come on the album it would've been great. Then came the second single, "Let's Ride" and it was great too, a dope cruising obviously west coast influenced track. But almost immediately after that it went downhill. This album was nearly saved by a couple collabos by Snoop and Nas, but overall I was disappointed in The Game. I think he has it in him to drop a classic album, but this outing wasn't it.

#1 - Lupe Fiasco - Food & Liquor

Don't get it twisted. I'm not hating on Lupe, I'm just not feeling this album as I was the first mixtape stuff I heard from him. After hearing Fahrenheit 1/15 I thought this dude was gonna blow up crazy with his first album! And he did blow up in the mainstream, but this album didn't live up to the hype of Lupe for me. "Kick, Push" got played out real quick when everybody just jumped on the hip-hop/skate/hypebeast bandwagons and although "Daydreamin'" had a dope video, the song sounded awful. The Jay-Z track on the album is probably one of the poorest collabos of the year. Overall this album was waaaaay overrated by everyone this year. Again it had a couple good tracks ("I Gotcha" & "The Cool") but it was sure as hell no front to back banger that it easily could've been.

2006 Recap - Part 1 - Remember & Top 10 Albums

It's been a minute since I posted anything up on here for y'all, but here goes the 2006 recap. Better late than never right??
For starters, two HUGE losses in the music industry this year:

J. Dilla or Jay Dee (02/07/74 - 02/10/06)
For those of you who don't know, J. Dilla was an excellent hip hop producer and very talented musician. He had been working with the Stones Throw label for most of his career releasing many memorable albums: Welcome 2 Detroit (on The Beat Generation), Jaylib - Champion Sound (Jaylib was J. Dilla and Madlib), and the most recent prior to his death due to Lupus and a rare blood disease was Donuts. He died only 3 days after the release of donuts and many artists have been using beats off that album in their own work in memory (i.e. Ghostface, The Roots, etc.). R.I.P. J. Dilla!!

James Brown (05/03/33 - 12/25/06)
James Brown was one of the most influential names in all of soul and funk music hence his nickname The Godfather of Soul. His career spanned five decades and countless albums and top 100 singles. He was performing up until the day of his passing and even had a tour planned where he was going to come through Calgary in January this year. Even in his 70's he was an unbelievable singer, dancer, and all around performer. I'm not 100% sure but I believe he is the most sampled artist in the hip-hop genre, but if not he has been sampled by many an artist including most notably Eric B. & Rakim. A great ear for music, an insane work ethic, and a fantastic performance will be surely missed by all and I'm sure his music will span many more generations. RIP James Brown!!

Top Hip Hop Albums of 2006

#10 - Field Mob - Light Poles & Pine Trees

One of the most slept on albums of the year. Field Mob's two members, Smoke and Shawn Jay, killed it on this album. Probably the most one liners in this album of any all year. "My paint change faster than the cast of Road Rules" is just a taste of what they give on this album.

#9 - Baby & Lil' Wayne - Like Father, Like Son

On first listen I thought Cash Money had lost it on this one after losing everyone except these 2 men right here. But after a few more listens the album is actually really good. Baby still needs to step his game up to be on the same level as Wayne on a few of these tracks, but other then that there's some crazy bangers.

#8 - E-40 - My Ghetto Report Card

The Hyphy movement seemed to be on the up and up this year with the release of this album. The king of slang, E-40, had some new stuff for us here with going dumb and gettin gouda, and I'm sure everyone has now tried to ghost-ride the whip at one time or another under the influence of E-40. Album was great, but didn't have the lasting power to push it higher on the list.

#7 - Jedi Mind Tricks - Servants in Heaven, Kings in Hell

Jedi Mind Tricks are back again for some more satanic punishment of the mic and this time kills it again lyrically. It is hard to match their last outing, Visions of Ghandi, but this one came damn close. The beats seemed a little softer than the last album but the lyrics are still on point. The track Uncommon Valour just shows their lyrical ability to tell stories.

#6 - Cam'ron - Killa Season

You can try to hate on Dipset all you want, but you just can't do it! I don't know why but their shit is always bangin! On Cam's third major release he comes hard on almost every track and even gets emotional on a track called I.B.S. talking about his problems with Irritable Bowel Syndrome. Great album from one of the best newer artists.

#5 - T.I. - King

T.I. comes hard on his third outing here. On my first listen I brushed it off as a mediocre album for 2006 but that was only because it didn't quite match up to his last album Urban Legend. After I got past that it was still a great album just not as good as his last, it went up the rankings in my books.

#4 - Ghostface Killah - Fishscale

Ghost is probably the most consistent of all the Wu Tang members. He has the largest following maybe only rivaled by Method Man because of his mainstream success, but Ghost is a close second. This album is another great one, maybe his best since Supreme Clientele (he even states "You ain't even been hungry since Supreme Clientele" on the album). He has a couple J Dilla tracks on here and a couple my underground legend MF Doom. Overall another great banger from front to back.

#3 - Rick Ross - Port of Miami

Rookie of the year Rick Ross comes strong with his first album based out of Dade County, Miami. His first single Hustlin' was one of the most played tracks of all year and the remix with Young Jeezy and Jay-Z just added to the crazy popularity of this new Rick Ross character. Along with him being on everyones albums he was easily the best newcomer in the biz this year. This album bangs from front to back and still about 9 months after the release I'm still bumpin it on the regular.

#2 - Young Jeezy - The Inspiration: Thug Motivation 102

""Last album did 2, I'm just tryina do three!" Jeezy did it again, straight burners from front to back, and you know I'm talkin bout those pots and pans. This album hits the triad of hip hop; Coke, Money and Death. Not too many guests on here, but enough to get by, and great guests at that. Kels kills it on Go Getta and same with T.I. on I Got Money. Nuff said bout Jeezy, either you know and love the man, or you think he's destroying hip hop. My take is he's giving the game a new face, as much as everyone says it's just straight coke and streets garbage, some of the lyrics have a slight bit of consciousness to them.

The brothers from VA have done it again! Fresh of a 4 year hiatus and a bunch of label troubles (Fuck Jive!), they come back with a short but sweet (no crappy skits) album. As always it comes produced by The Neptunes and every single track works to a T. Limited to only a couple guests, and they didn't really need any. Insane wordplay, crazy beats, would you expect anything less from one of the greatest rap duos of all time? I didn't think so!

Another year has come and gone...and i'm sure you cannot change the channel without seeing some sort of recap show of how the year went... First of all I will like to take some time to remember the KING OF FUNK Mr. James Brown...He was absolutely one of the most influential people in Funk, R and B and Hip-Hop... He will be missed and hopefully with his passing more people actually realize how Dope his tracks and swagger was... RIP James Brown (Christmas Day 2006)

Well Shiiit, there was some great and shitty releases in the shoe, music and fashion world... I will leave this up for discussion but here are my opinion on what dropped this year...

Best Store (Calgary)
1. The Source on 17th...
Many would put Goodfoot in the top spot. but truly The source has put out better shit in this past year... I got my shop on a little more harder at the Source than Goodfoot...They put out better brands, sold some dope NIKE DUNKS and some sick skate apperal... But don't get me wrong GDFT is a SICK shop, for it's rookie year in Calgary, it Did really well. and I got nothing but love the people that work over there.

2. Goodfoot.

3. Group Seven... These are the most chill guys in Calgary, and they win the best looking shop award hands down. They sell some of the sickest shit... 10 Deep, Greedy Genius, Crooks and Castles, Lemar and Dauley, etc...

Honourable Mention... Giant 45

The Top 5 Rap Albums of 2006

1. Hell Hath No Fury (The CLIPSE) - From the first track "We Do it for Cheap" Pusha T and Malice, smash any doubt of the sophmore jinx... They genius and aggressive rhymes on "Momma I'm So Sorry" and the car banga. featuring the Bowse of the South, Slim Thug on "Wamp, Wamp" bridge into the real meat and potatoes of the album "Ride Around Shining" and "Keys Open Doors" add the flowy and under-rated intelligence that the Clipse contain. The last song on the album happens to be the best... "Chinese New Year.." could be the rap song of the year... creative idea and great way to close out such a great cd...

2. The Inpsiration (Young Jeezy) - Sorry, but this album from front to back got more plays from me in a day than any cd i've listened to for a while...like cocaine this album is addicting and exillerating...but unlike cocaine... "The Inspiration's" effect does not wear off so quickly " Hypnotize" is a great intro to set the album's tone... I wont give away the rest of the album... but Jeezy again shows that there is no such thing as a Sophmore Jinx and that the south is here to stay..

3. Hip-Hop is Dead (Nas) - Nas, the King of Queens, brings Hip-hop to life, with this latest release... The key to this album is not to expect it to be better than Stillmatic or Illmatic... Cause that is not plausible. With that aside, this is a Damn good album which could easily be the best album of the year, they were no flaws on this album... "Black Republican" feat JAY-Z??!?!! Holy shit... Unreal beat and likewise with the rhymes... The album has the classic shift in pace to it... With up beat tracks like "Money over Bullshit" "Carry on Tradition" and "Who Killed it?" the bridge is "Black Republican" and just when your starting to vibe this album it slowws down to the lyrical savy that Nas has shown over the years "Never Again" with his wife Kelis..."Can't forget about You" "Blunt Ashes" and the acapella freestyle "Hope" to close out this Gem is a great finishing touch... Big up s to Nas for overcoming the idiots that say this album flopped...People that say this album flopped are over expecting traditionalists that need to open they eyes and realize that Hip hop will never be the 80's again...

4. The Blue Carpet Treatment (Snoop Dogg) - Snoop is back and wow he changed the way i thought about him.. he had a certain aggression that I always thought he lacked in his last few releases... "Vayo" is a great track and Akooooonnnnnnnnnnn shows up in " I Wanna Fuck You" and "Boss' Life" Yessir... Great Tracks... Snoop is Back!

5. The Carter Vol. ll - ( Lil Wayne) - Even though this album came out in Late Late 2005 this cd rounds out the 2006 roster of best album of the year... Li'l Wayne is the bomb this cd is unreal...buy it. enjoy it.

Honourable Mention. The Roots- Game Theory The Game - Doctor's Advocate, Justin Timberlake - Future Love Sex Sounds * Not really hip hop... but whatever...The Worst/Over Hyped Rap Albums of 2006
Okay the Worst album of the year is obviously K-Fed aka Fed-Ex's "America's Most Hated..." so lets just declare him the winner and start again...

1. The year of the Dog (DMX) - Wow.... Dmx has to step up... Since "It's Dark and Hell is Hot" He has not made an album 2 stars worthy...

2. Kingdom Come - (Jay-Z) - The most hyped album... due to Dre being on the album... Well Dre. and Jay-Z equally fucked this album up... It has one maybe two good songs on it... i started to like it and then realized how bland it is... this a download only cd...

3. Rotten Apple (Lloyd Banks) - I hate that guy.

4. The Re-Up (Eminem and the Gang) - I Miss the suicidal, angst ridden, mother hating, homophobic Eminem...

The Best Rock Album of 2006

1. Continuum (John Mayer). John Mayer back from his "Song of the Year" win at the Grammy's with the heart warming single "Daughters." John Mayer hit the studios to record his best LP in his sucessful career which is Continuum. The debut of his new singles... actually hit CSI before they hit MTV and Muchmusic. "Vultures" and "Slow Dancing in a Burning Room" closed out a dramatic and great eppy of CSI... (Grissom's Last Show Tonight* Rattled). "In Repair" "Dreaming with a Broken Heart" and "Going to Find Another You" are my Personal Favorites... This album is Rock Solid... Classic Mayer with a little more innovation to his riffs and his band seem to step up to carry his voice and guitar through... This album can be played at a solid get together... or ...chillin with the girl... Much love to John and the Boys....

2. 10 000 Days (Tool) - If you dont already know I'm probally the biggest Tool head in Canada... But I'm Tool's biggest critic as well... This album took a while to grow on me... Lateralus, Aenima, Undertow and Opiate were quick hits... 5 Star albums... But 10 000 Days is more of a CD than 13 tracks... It is very tough to listen to particular songs that are in the loop... "Vicarious" is a hell of a single which have turned many music fans to Tool... "Jambi" is what Tool is really about... Innovation, Fucked up, Visceral lyrics and Crushing instrumentals.. After this song... The Loop of 10 000 Days takes it's effect... "Wings for Marie/ 10 000 Days" is a tribute Lead Singer Maynard's Mother who suffered a stroke and was paralyzed for exactly 10 000 Days until her death... Very emotional beat... after those two songs Tool starts to show their long awaited swagger with "The Pot" and "Lost Keys/ Rosetta Stoned" Which is about losing your keys while on a LCD trip... hahahaha... "Right and Two." the years best Closing track... Hands down...

3. Black Holes and Revelations (Muse) - "Absolution" one of my all time favorite albums... Make sure to purchase that before Digging into "Black Holes..." Muse is a very under the radar band... It's Too bad... but good .. so i dont get sick of them by the overplaying by media stations... Muse are the better version of Coldplay... ya i said it... Coldplay has officially bought into what the Record Exec's have told them to do... Muse do what they want... and it shows... and it proves that you can still be creative in this era of shitty music... Great album, must buy * After Absoultion to get the whole "Muse effect."

4. Amputecture (The Mars Volta) - The Volta's 3rd Full Length... and truly not the best but not their worst.. Frances the Mute is in my opinion their best album... But This cd is so random that if your a true musician you have to pick this album up and the rest of them up if you're not into them yet... They cd's are very cheap 9.99 at most shops around town... Great Deal for what your getting... They are very intricate and random but give them time and you will see how smart and precise they are.. "Meccamputecture" "Vicarious Atonement" and the single "Vicera Eyes" are catchy beats that again have to play in sequence From front to back...

5. We have a tie!! I gave both cd's listens and i can't decide to fit in here so i gave them both the benefit of the doubt..
Revelations (Audioslave) vs. Out of Exile (Audioslave)- Out of Exile is the first cd that came out this year and is a great cd to listen in the car and with the friends... Revelations being released almost 6 months later is more of a CD which is another Front/Back Cd which you give more appreciation to after a few listens by yourself... Clutch shit...

The highly anticipated "Hip-Hop is Dead" album from Nas, has leaked... It is a little harder to find on the net... But thanks to forums on Nexopia, Collin Gordon has informed me he has the CD and has hyped the album to be better than STILLMATIC and just as GOOD as ILLMATIC... Those are some big words, but the description of the album may prove these allegations right... No Club Banga's, No cheezy singles, Just them grimey beats and lyrical genius that Nas is renowed for. I am very excited to hear this album, considering that I love the single "Hip Hop is Dead." and Collin says thats the worst song, so No where but up with this album...

P.S Don't Want to add more Hype but, Collin is quoted as saying "this album shits on any album tahts come out in the past 5 years."

Along with the Goodfoot opening in Vancouver they are opening a Ransom as well. For those who don't know, Ransom is the sister store to Goodfoot that specializes in clothing as opposed to shoes. They carry brands like Hundreds, 10 deep, BBC, King Stampede and Married to the Mob for the ladies. Good ups on Matt from Goodfoot in opening this in Van, but they really need to get one here in Calgary as well!

You know what this is by now. 10 Deep's been making some well designed hoods as well as tees for a while now. The label is available at Ghettoblaster (the last seasons models, a few tees and a couple hoods), and Giant 45 (they just got in the fall season jackets and about 4 or 5 tees, nothing bigger than an L in the jackets though, bastards!). 10 Deep has just released their winter season stuff, some of it is really on point, i'm really feeling the picnic/lumberjack hoods, doin it nice and plain. Doctor's Advocate, the hype, the push dates, the rumors, fuck the cd that everybody has been waiting for is here! well not really Next Week! 14-11-06 Doc's Advocate Drops in stores everywhere. I have illegally downloaded this album. i couldnt wait any longer! but fuck this cd is bomb... I have heard mixed feelings about the cd. But the majority of people that have listened to the cd said that this cd is ill... I find this cd more Gangst. than the Documentary, But the Documentary was the Documentary... probally one of the best rap albums made in my time at least. But this cd has alot of good shit on it... and from being on the rumor sites... Dr. Dre had nothing to do with this album producing or lyrics wise.... Although the whole cd, is almost apologizing to Dre, which was pretty classy, The Game apologizes to 50 Cent as well which was also commendable. The Game has grown up with this album and had alot of friends help him out . Swizz Beats, Kanye, Will.i.Am, Junior Reid, Nas, Kurupt, Daz Dillinger. and some more ill producers.

P.S: Even though I downloaded this album. I will make sure im at HMV or on hmv.ca buying this album...too crack

Goodfoot is dropping them Nov. 9th at opening for $200 with a matching GDFT tee. The Source is also dropping them on Nov. 9th at opening, not sure of the price, but they're selling them at both the 17th ave. location as well as the Shawnessy location. These shoes are already fetching $400+ on ebay so prepare for some more lame ass hype and people just looking to make a quick buck. I'm not really feelin these and I hate reselling but we'll see how this week goes. Goodfoot and Source 17th open at 11 and Shawnessy at 11:30, be there early if you really want these shits. Two weekends ago after avoiding 100% legit for almost 4 years, Adam {boozenshoes} finish the loop of fashion shops that Calgary has to offer. We decided to goto McDonalds to get some food. I ordered the Number 3 super sized with Orange DRANK! and paid with perfect change..like a boss... After my double big mac meal we looked across the street and we found the shop "everybody" talks about. 100 per cent legit, it almost had an aura around it... Adam is very familiar with this story i tell and almost everybody is that comes in contact with me at champ's (where i work) and asks me where to go for hip hop clothing. So we thought it would be funny go inside and act like customers and were seriously buying a fall wardrobe... I walk in... No Vice... They are already at -1.. before my second foot is in the door we are greeted by a very very friendly black guy "hi dude's welcome to 100%legit" *-2... after that we notice a huuuuge BAPESTA stand on the left.. knowing we were going to check that out we saved the best for last... So I check out where it all began... the polo's, and yes they are still ridiculously over priced and probally not even real. I'm not too knowledgable on how to spot Roc-fakes and such but a good guy told me that "if some one sells one thing thats fake.. chances are more are fake". I look up and i see the poor souls buying this over priced shit cause they dont know whats good for them. All this sadness made me want to get a haircut...Oh yes a barber shop downstairs... I wonder if they even have a license... After more browsing we roll up to the BAPESTA rack... FAKE BAPESTA shoes obviously, and they were more being put up while we looked. It was amazing how fake this shit was... At Goodfoot a BBC hoodie runs about 415.00CDN and like wise for any legit BAPE hoodie... Adam being an idiot decides to try on his first fake anything ever. And he looked like a jackass.. so the friendly manager wheels in and says "Yes, Yes you like BapeSta? it's 180? But since its the last one i think i can do something about that" .......
Any Legit BAPE hoodie will be no lower than 300.CDN and this guy is practically giving it to him for 140.00.
Adam took it off trying not crack up and we rolled out of the store.
On the contary Mr. Title yes this place does sell fake shit and I tell everyone i know to keep away from this store...unless you like buying fake shit...

That was a joke that is evidently and ironically the truth at one of Calgary's most popular for the wrong reasons hip-hop store called "100% Legit." This place is ran by an african group that retails so called authentic sheet. haha.. im black i get to make that joke. but whats not funny is ripping off little g-unit soldiers that are everything but in the faggot clique. "100% Legit" is located on 17th ave right across from the McDonalds, and 2 stores down from Purr which is a great location for hoodrats that chill at McD's and rich kids that think g-unit is still cool and will buy anything baggy to rebel. Anyways, In 2002, when I rocked roca wear, still do from time to time... I was looking for an outlet that sold more "urban wear" cause athlete's world wasn't cuttin' it anymore, so some guy told me i should check out 100 % legit. So i get on www.rocawear.com and www.enyce.com, scope their site for what i want and hoping to find it at legit when i go the following weekend.

Saturday I roll with 4 bills in my pocket ready to drop some cash for back to school. I walk in the door and the place ...smells different than most places... so after i got passed that i was greeted by 3 black guys. 2 that work there and the obvious hood rat that just chills there for no apperant reason. I look around and find some real nice polos and longsleeve collars. Some thing was very odd, I thought i was seeing things but the prices were a little high... for a roca wear polo 175.00CDN... Enyce collar 125.00CDN...Enyce Polo 150.00CDN. On roca wears and enyce's site they had these shirts listed as 75.00 100.00 and 75.00 respectively.. So i call my buddy from school to ask him about this garbage, he tells me to tell them i'm from toronto and i know this shit isnt what it is and i will not buy this for such an inflated price... Monkey see Monkey do... and the cashier calls his manager over and i talk with him and explain where i'm from* and he starts to bargain with me... i tell him i saw this shit in toronto for 250 total.. he gets defensive and offers me 280 for the whole package... i agree and never bought anything from there again.

I was downtown last weekend checkin and coppin' some new kicks (whats new?). Adam and I walked into Group Seven and just as I opened the door I happened to trip on a stack of something that seemed to scuff my shoe... It turned out to be a parcel of FREE magazines that said Vice on it. It said FREE so I said why not lets see what this mag has to offer. Vice magazine is a company runned by Suroosh Alvi, Shane Smith and Gavin McInnes. This mag is the opitomy of uncensored, insightful writing that rises out of the scum that most people read, recent mainstream magazines have more pictures and filler than the good ol' writing that was essential for a magazine :0. But Vice is different, yes it is free so yes there is alot of advertising but even the ad's are fuckin creative and get the less known companies out there. The mag usually opens with a Rant forum of people adding their two cents about previous issues. Which is probally the funniest part of the Vice. This issue was about Gangs and Cults around the world. Vice actually sent rep's to join and report various cults and gangs. One was sent to Houston to try and join the crips...Never got in... but these ruthless gangsta's were kind and ever dearing to lend a hand on showing their gang signs and threads they rock. I can Ramble on for hours about this one article, but I have to cover the greatest issue of a magazine since "FHM's Top 100 girls of the year."

This issue was last year and finished a close 2nd in my books... it was "The first annual Story of the Year Awards" Vice had kids around the world send their most funniest, scarriest and jaw dropping stories in for judging. Most were very very dope except for one which a girl tells a story about her bf breaking up with her ass. Weak shit.

Anyways put your head into a vice and cop this mag when your downtown crusin', shoppin', or just doin your thang. and ask them if they have any more issues of "story of the year's" left.

Vice has been doing it big for over 5 years now I believe. Their free mag always kills it every month! There's a vice store headed over in Toronto if you're in the neighborhood check it out, you won't be dissapointed. I think Vice is originally from Canada but it is now stationed throughout the entire world! If you can find it get the issue from 2 months ago, it's the Storys issue and some of the stories are just unbelievable!
P.S. The best article in this months mag is about the white guy who was an honourary member of the crips for about a year. Some pretty crazy shit!

Those Rose AF1 highs are one of my holy grails! Sick shoes. But my official Air Force 1 holy grail would have to be the Air Force 1 High Stash. I believe they were released in early 2003 and were limited to 3000 pairs worldwide (1000 in London, 1000 in New York and 1000 in Tokyo). They come with a CD and a lockable briefcase. Stussy has been collaborating with many powerhouse companies in the apperal industry. Shoe shop central, Goodfoot, and a little brand called Nike to say the least. Nikexstussy have been working together off and on throughout the years and 2006 they decided to hook up again.

October 14th was the official launch of Nike and Stussys World tour and .... with every launch Nike does... A shoe is released to commemorate the big ordeal... Personally stussy is the illest brand out there right now.. that and Nike... so i guess this is the perfect match. Back to the shoe... The shoe is The NIKE DUNK... which seems to be the hottest shoe model this year... designed by Paul Mittleman. But to not to be out done... StussyNike put the same idea into another of Nike's premier and trendy model which is the Nike Free 7.0. I personally dig the design's my self...but i wonder why they didnt do it for Nike Air Force which as fallen off the face of the fuckin earth... That is another story for another day...

On the sunday night finale Flav picked his girl out of the last 2 choices: New York and Deelishis. Flav took Deelishis to get a massaged and grabbed some giant booty all day, then he took New York on a boat and helped her from drowning all day. After all was done, Flav chose Deelishis as his new girl and boy was New York ever pissed. The biggest show since Chappelle has hit Citytv on thurrrrrrrrrsday nights!! Vince and the gang hit the streets of L.A trying to fulfill the West Coast dream of being a filthy rich actor or a filthy rich agent... Vince is the super-actor that has been scouted by by the hiliarious Jeremy Piven who won a Emmy for his supporting role in this series. He plays "Ari" who is a sexist, arrogant motherfucker that you cant help but laugh to whatever he's got to say..The plot starts as Vince calls his buddys from Queens to be his entourage... The 3 other characters are perfect for the scene they are in. Turtle is the dumb, funny one. Johnny Drama is the dumb middle age one and Eric is the glue that holds these 4 together. Check it out yourself, you will not be disappointed. It's on HBO for goodness sakes so it has to be good. And yes I know Sex and the City is on HBO. I still dont like it but I know people that do.

So any ways this the funniest t.v show since Chap's and I encourage you guys to watch every thursday to get on this wagon before it becomes another chappelle show...

It's been a minute now, school's been busy so I haven't been able to post anything. Don't worry! I'll try to pick it up. Soooooo.... back to Flavor of Love. This past week held quite an episode. Flav opted to go on 2 full day dates with 2 of the lovely ladies. First off he took Krazy and Deelishis on a date and ended up in the shower with both of the girls (somewhat reminiscent of last year's Hoopz and Pumkin shower scene, but with more clothing). Then he took New York and Bootz out the next day and both the girls were at each other's throats all day. At the end of the night Flav chose New York to join him in his room. After all the travesty we still had the eliminations and this week Bootz was the one who had to go, although she did give Flav her number and told him to call her "once he gets sick of those bitches." So now it's down to 3; New York, Deelishis, and Krazy.

So apparently the new thing at Nike is to take 2 shoe styles and throw them together into one shoe. They've just announced a big campaign called the Rise of the Hybrids "One Time Only". It's slated for only Tier 0 Nike accounts (the most exclusive of all nike accounts) and Goodfoot Toronto will be having their release party friday Sept. 29th at 10 PM and the shoes will be ready to sell at 12PM that night.

Crooks & Castles X New Era

Crooks & Castles dropped a new New Era fitted in 3 dope colors; black, red, and navy. It has a nice little broken chain in the front, a small castle symbol in the back, and for those who like to flip the brim there's a dope bandana print on the underside. The pictures show it better. Also check in at the Commonwealth shop as they just got them in. Hopefully Group Seven or Ghettoblaster in Calgary pick up the Crooks & Castles license so we can start getting some here!

A new Nike dunk SB low has surfaced and it has hype written all over it. I know it was a few months back when the first picture surfaced but now there is one that shows a little more detail. It's called the "Dia de Los Mureto" dunk, or in english, The Day of the Dead. It's slated for a November release but with Nike SB you'll never know. Enough talk, here's the picture.

Flavor of Love season 2 update!! So it went down sunday night and New York has slept her way back into the final 5 of the show. As expected the entire episode was full of fight after fight all caused by the crazy bitch herself, New York. Flav goes on dates with Buckeey, Bootz and Deelishis (Bootz looked fine as hell in the hot tub) and left New York and Krazy at home to bond. Krazy and Buckeey get in a fight later and Buckeey shoves Krazy and, which i thought was bullshit, Krazy said that Buckeey almost pushed her off the balcony. Then the eliminations came up and Buckeey (who was my personal favorite) gets the boot for almost killing Krazy (again bullshit). So it's now down to 4 girls; New York, Krazy, Bootz, and Deelishis. Only about 3 more episodes to go and we'll see who will be picked. I'm going with either New York or Bootz.

Group of Seven

CALGARY NEWS!!! There's a new dope skate/streetwear store in Calgary. It goes by the name of Group Seven (there is a group of seven guys who opened the store together) and it's on 4th Street right behind Henry's and above a closed down Lowrider bike shop. They've got a really dope place up there and really chill atmosphere. When you walk in there's a big ass TV screen always playing some skate video, huge open windows, a nice skateboard display on the wall and some really killer clothing lines. They carry; Diamond Supply, Mighty Healthy, Mishka, Greedy Genius, RBK DGK skate shoes, RBK Ice Cream skate shoes, Stacks and Bundles, King Stampede, I'm probably missing a few but you get the deal. They were also talking about carrying Evisu, Crooks & Castles and Artful Dodger. DOPE! Bout time Calgary got a nice skate influenced streetwear shop! They also do some hardware for skates but only a few certain brands. The sickest thing is... the entire store is skateable! From the hardwood floors to the stone ledges where the clothing sits on to the half pipe you have to walk across to go to the fitting rooms. Enough with the rundown of the store, let the pictures speak for themselves.

Had to pick up something on the first visit, so got a nice Diamond tee.

Earthquake in the bay

These have been rumored to release for quite a while now, and they're expected to come out sometime in November. More pics have surfaced showing the dunks in the Huf earthquake pack. The pack involved an orange dunk and a green air force 1. Both looking really sick and there has already leaked some matching tees and hats. Check em out.

Stussy X Goodfoot

These pictures have been circulating for a little while now but there's been confirmed release dates, so I figured I should post it. Stussy has just done a collaboration on some hoodies with Goodfoot and they're looking pretty nice. They come in; red/black, black/red, black/gold, and marble. The official release is today at the Toronto and Montreal stores and next saturday (the 23rd) in Calgary. Not sure how much they're retailing for but my guess is around $100. The marble one looks really sick so come and check them out!

In other news, both hoodies have already sold out (that's ridiculously fast). Good news though, they got some pretty dope 10 Deep Chain Gang bandanas at $20US a pop.

Allweays Frooosh!?!

Forget that old Mark Messier Lay's chips commercial, but remember Foosh. Foosh is a really dope streetwear store in the provincial capital to the north of us, Edmonton. To the best of my knowledge is that it is a sister store to Giant 45 here in Calgary. They've recently just dropped a bunch of their new store tees and some are looking pretty nice. Also they've done a collaboration with New Era (seems so is everyone) and they've done well. They've got a pretty nice blog going from their store so check it out, Foosh Blog.

DC X New Era 20/94

We all know NewEra has been making DC hats for a minute now but this is pretty big. New Era will be making a DC fitted and DC will be making a New Era shoe, all limited to 114 sets each, once every season until 2008. The series, called 20/94, stands for the years both companies were established; New Era in 1920 and DC in 1994. Here's a picture of the first set in the series:

The Green Machine

This just in, Calgary will be getting the Green Bean Air Jordan V retros! For sure Champs Sports at Chinook Centre will be releasing them on Saturday the 23rd, not sure if Foot Locker is getting them, but if they do get them, the release date is the same. This colorway isn't my cup of tea but I know some heads are gonna be rolling for these kicks! Retail on all retro V's this year is $209.99 canadian.

Verdict is still out on whether or not these holy grails will be coming to Calgary, but the Grape Air Jordan Vs will be releasing in USA on Sept. 30th. These have been my grails since I started getting into sneakers, so I will have to find a way to get my hands on these bad boys.

They're making some pretty inovative and fresh t-shirt designs but I'm still not into the uber-tight jeans or pants. Vinyl is the new Action Figure

I've always been a kid at heart, into toys and shit, but with this vinyl toy craze blowing up there's a few pieces i'm feeling. A collaboration has been released between Toyspain X Kidrobot X Montanacolors. A crew of little creatures have been assembled with spray can tips for heads. A bunch of graffiti artists (mostly Spanish) have come through with designing these toys. They're looking pretty sick and as far as vinyl toys go, they aren't too expensive (8 Euros a piece). There's also an online shop at Toyspain where you can pick up these.

Just announced last week, a quiet little underground hip hop group you may have heard of is coming to the oil and gas city! November 1st at MacEwan Hall at the U of C, Jurassic 5 will be performing, with guests. Tickets are $38.50 at Ticketmaster so snatch em up before you miss the show! I will update once I find out who the guests for the show are.
Jurassic 5, sans the curly haired white man in the middle, will be in Calgary November 1st.
